The white-headed langur is one of the most endangered primates in the world. Before 1980, there were fewer than 300 white-headed langurs left in China. Chongzuo in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with the typical karst topography, is the last home of the white-headed langur.

A series of actions to protect the rare animal have been launched at the Chongzuo National Nature Reserve including regular researches, academic exchanges, and scientific popularization activities. Now the population of the white-headed langur has reached to over 1200. (Photo credit: CFP.CN)
